Setting the day apart from others, engaged couples have gone out of the box and have completely gotten away from traditional when it comes to their wedding photography.
Your wedding photographs will serve as your everlasting memento from your big day, so why not get a little creative?
A trend that is becoming very popular to those getting married in destination locations of Cancun and Mayan Riviera is a trash the dress underwater photo session.
Both Cancun and Mayan Riviera have what is known as cenotes in the water. Cenotes are a "natural pit, or sinkhole, that resulted from a collapse in limestone bedrock that exposes groundwater underneath."
The way the sunlight drops into a cenote makes the environment absolutely stunning and the ideal backdrop for a unique photography session. Underwater photos are a wonderful way to get artistic and have beautiful photographs that you can't get anywhere else.
While lots of fun, underwater trash the dress photo sessions are magical and every bit as romantic as land photographs are. Since you will already have your wedding dress with you, this is the perfect opportunity to explore the ocean and it's living environment while capturing beautiful moments with your new spouse.
Your photographer will have all of the necessary equipment to help make the session a success, but here are a few tips for you:
- Since you'll be underwater, clothing will be heavier. It might be wise for the bride to wear a lighter dress.
- It will appear very dark, but what you see as the final result is completely worth it.
- You will be in the environment of lots of fish, which will find you interesting. However, the little fish that swim in and around a cenote do not bite.
- Water is a natural reflector of the sun so make sure you come prepared with a good coat of sunscreen on.
